Lakes, Rivers and Marina's

Laurel Lake

Laurel Lake has over 200 miles of shore line and 5800 acres of water and is located within the protected Daniel Boone National Forest. Boating, fishing, swimming and scuba diving are some of the activities to enjoy. The lake is well known for Rainbow trout fishing and also offers excellent Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Catfish, and Crappie fishing.  Laurel Lake currently holds the state record for Smallmouth Bass at 8 lbs. 12 oz.,
caught in 1998.

Wood Creek Lake

Located off I-75 exit 41 via West 80 about 7 miles to Hawk Creek Rd. turn right and go past Ott's grocery to Wood Creek Grocery and bear right at the forks.  Road ends at dock.

Scenic crystal clear waters makes this 900 acre lake a great fishing spot.  There are two main forks:  Wood Creek and Gillis Branch, and several other medium long sloughs.  The lake is too narrow for pleasure boating.  Wood Creek is home of the state large mouth bass record of 13 lbs. 10oz.
